So You Want To Make A Mashup?

There are many ways to make mashups. I’m going to show you a few examples. When I first started doing them, I used good old-fashioned Technics 1200′s.

Doing them this way takes intense practice which I’ve had in my 30 years as a deejay. But if you insist on doing them by hand it would be much easier with your favorite CDJ player. I prefer the Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3 Professional CD/MP3 Turntable

The Denon DN S1000 Scratch DJ Table Top DJ CD and MP3 Player is also a good choice.

But you are better off using software that was made for this kind of thing. Because no matter how good you may hold a beat, you’ll never be as good as the computer. Plus the analog way you are limited with no extra tricks and tweaks and effects. Ableton Live is the choice for many DJ’s that create mashups.

But my favorite is the Numark MixMeister Fusion Powerful DJ Sequencer Software. A very powerful software for the price. User-friendly. Plenty effects. Looping and more.

So as you see there are many choices when it comes to making mashups. So get out there and get creative.
